I am back...

I so thought My days of writing blog posts about not blogging were over.....however after I wrote about oil pulling the internet went....I was bored I had no one to read, nothing pretty to look at and no contact with the   online world....it was hard but I have just been able to make it...I'm almost half dead typing this out but some will say that that's pretty much just me!

But just because I have been away this does not mean I have not been thinking about you.....I have taken loads of picture and need only wait to uploads them on to the computer now...which I hope I shall get done by tomorrow so that I can post something up of interest!

I have kept up on the oil pulling front....and...it does seem to be working a bit, although I'm thinking of changing from olive oil to normal cooking oil, the olive oil although it has helped a bit it's just a little too thick.
Algerian olive oil it not like any other I have ever seen before....it is really think not like the stuff you buy in london! it's more of a brown then a green....and while it tastes nice it just isn't the right kind for oil pulling!

I have also tried My hands at facial oil pulling.....I hear Sophia Loren used to this every day, and lets face it...who does not want skin like hers????

First you wash your face, you the rub a small amount of olive oil in to your skin ( i read the best olive oil for the job is Italian olive oil) but I always make do with what we have so thick Algerian oil it was!  you then get a wash cloth and put it in hot water, you place it on your face as hot as you can manage, reheat you cloth and do the same again this time you very gently scrub your face.

All i'm going to say is it did not work for me...if you want to wake up and not recognise your own face go for it... i did this for a week...not wanting to give up without really trying it out well.
i was told that by the end of day three I will have soft skin and that any spots and black heads would be gone within a blink of an eye!

Sophia Loren I bet didn't look as oily or a black head filled as I did...i had spots on my face, under the skin and not really easy to see but I could feel them!

Lesson number one when looking for the perfect olive oil for your face stay away from Algerian olive oil.....too thick!

lesson two I will never have the skin of Sophia Loren....so I need not try!

Is good skin really too much to ask for?

oil pulling

Last year ended with me coming and going to the dentist....I have not got the healthiest teeth in the world i know!
when we were living in the UK I used to go about my teeth every six months or so, so my teeth while I was living there wasn't so bad, however almost four years after coming here I have only just had my first visit to an Algerian dentist....and lets just put it this way...my gums are not as healthy as they should be!

I have to tell the truth here I did have a lot of bad dreams and thoughts about seeing an Algerian dentist at all let alone for the first time!.....I have never had this problem in the UK by the way!

I have had thoughts of having my teeth being pulled out ...of the dentists drilling a hole right through my jaw! of bleeding out and dying and then.....I went and....I have to say as you might already know by now non of these things came true.....apart from the bleeding bit...but then it wasn't as much as i thought it would and.....as you can see i didn't die......I have to say I almost died on the spot when mum said she was going to take me...even though I asked her to!

I also at this point have to say that it is the very first time I have ever had to go anywhere related to health and had to sit in a garden chair.....but then this is Africa we are talking about!

So I am going to try out oil pulling...I have to say the thought of having to pull oil through my teeth before I have even had anything to eat make me feel a little agh about it...the thought of leaving it in my mouth for 20 minutes makes me feel YUCK but...for the sake of a healthy mouth I WILL do it!

these are just some of the things oil pulling is promising me....

  • decrease in headaches
  • improves eczema
  • helps with ulcers and diseases of stomach, intestines, heart, blood, kidney, liver, lungs
  • reduce or slow growth of malignant tumors
  • better sleep
  • whiter, straighter teeth
  • healthy, pink gums
  • increased energy
  • clear sinuses
  • less severe asthma
  • decreased allergies
  • improved PMS symptoms
  • regulated menstrual cycles
  • clear skin
I'm not sure I really believe that pulling oil through my teeth is going to help my skin or my sleep or anything else other then my gums...but I might be wrong!
I shall start in the morning and will do it for a whole month...and we will see if it works or not!

This weeks reads.....

This week I have been doing alot of reading......one of the only things that keeps me happy throughout the winter!
I have to say I'm really loving the No.1 ladies detective agency....I have had great fun with the first two books now, I have enjoyed them greatly....and I'm about to start book number three tonight.
They are very easy to read and both the first and second books didn't take me very long to get through!

I watched the T.V adaptation a few year ago when I was still living in the UK and I actually read the first book then as well and have been in love with it ever since!

I have also found a love for poetry again....this has to be my most loved piece ever...this was actually the poem I studied for while I was taking my GCSE's....I always remember home when I read it because I studied it during my last year there!
Ever since I was a little child I have always loved how for the little time you sit down to read a book...an hour or maybe less...but for however long you sit down to read it, you can just be someone else...somewhere else....I like to read books set in different places around the world...because in some odd way, i feel like I have traveled the world!

pretty and warm....

I don't think there is any better way to spend a cold a rainy afternoon then with a good crafting project....and there is nothing like a nice hot cup of tea to keep your hands warm in a house that seems to always be cold!

last week I started a new crochet project...it was going to be a cardigan for my younger sister.....however the pattern went a little wrong...and it just didn't look like it was going to fit any kind of a human being.
So after spending two afternoons crocheting up the whole of the back, i decided to take it all apart and look for something else to make.....which is a shame because I think it would have made a really nice warm and cosy cardigan for the winter!

But after I had a look around online for something else to do...I actually started to feel a little happy that the other project didn't go so well...because I found the perfect shawl!
And lets face it who doesn't need a nice lacy shawl for the winter?......who needs real warmth when you can have something pretty and pink?
I haven't gotten that much of it done however it does seem to be working up really fast, and so far it's been really easy to make.....I shall have to stay up tonight and get some more of it done before I go to sleep!
It does give me great joy to look at and I can't wait to finish it!

till tomorrow xxxx

This here will be...

my new blogging home, I have no idea but for some reason my other blog is no longer giving me any joy.
I'm finding it hard to write on it and to be honest I'm finding it.....well a bit boring!

It just turned into a blog about me trying to do things, yet somehow not getting anything done....it just turned into a whole lot of empty word, do you see why I no longer loved my old blog.

I have always thought that a blog should be like a home for your thoughts...and mine was just feeling like an empty house...not really mine but somebody else's!

I would love this place to feel like it was really mine...like I could put every thought in to it and feel happy about it too, I want to be able to look back at this blog and feel like I've actually done something....I want it to be more colourful and bright then the other one, more pictures and projects!

I love the thought of being able to let people see in to my life...and being able to stay in touch with people who are so far away from me now....

I want this year and all the year to come inshallah to be more productive then the first god knows how many years of my life!...I want to learn new things and be good at them!

I hope that I will always love this blog and see it as something I can always come to when I have a thought to share....big or small!

This blog will be bigger and better and I will love it and make it mine....
